Mineral Makeup Explained
Natural minerals have been used in makeup for several decades. Mineral powder foundations can help hide imperfections, such as blotchy, red skin, and can also control shine,
particularly if your skin is oily.
Recent technical advances now enable mineral powder foundations to provide aesthetic benefits and improve the overall health of the skin.1 Many dermatologists recommend
mineral foundations to their patients with sensitive skin. Unlike traditional foundations, products containing minerals are less likely to have irritating ingredients,
such as fragrances, dyes, and preservatives.
Mineral powder foundations can be formulated to include beneficial ingredients such as antioxidants (vitamins A, C, and E), soy, and silk powder. When used on a daily basis,
these enhanced powder foundations can protect the skin while improving uneven skin tone, texture, and clarity.
In addition, the fine weightless particles in mineral powder foundations are generally oil-free, nonirritating and less likely to clog pores, which is especially important if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin.
