Safe Ways to Use Concealer on Acne

When shopping for a concealer, search for one that does more than cover blemishes. Look for concealers and foundations that also contain salicylic acid, an acne medication that penetrates clogged pores to quickly and effectively treat blemishes.1

For best results and the safest use, follow these simple steps:
    1) Wash your face with a gentle cleanser or mild soap. Pat dry.
    2) Apply a small amount of concealer directly onto your blemish using a light dabbing motion. Blend in the concealer with a facial sponge.
    3) Select an oil-free foundation in a tint that matches your skin color. Be sure that it is labeled "non-comedogenic" (won't clog pores) and "non-acnegenic" (won't cause acne). Foundations with salicylic acid will also help to clear and prevent emerging breakouts.
    4) To reduce shine, use a makeup brush to dust a light coat of oil-free, translucent powder over your face.
5)Always use a mild cleanser or makeup remover to completely remove cosmetics from your skin before you go to bed.
