Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Bad reaction
The exact same thing happened to me as blahblahblah from Alabama.
I've never had a reaction like this before to a product. I washed my face and went to work-out. The sweat from my run starting burning my face and it turned bright red. The next day, my eyes were swollen, face was red and burning...Currently on day 3 and eyes were swollen this morning and face is still burning. :(

I don't understand why this product has a lot of negative reviews. I love this face wash! I have multiple forms of acne such as papules and blackheads. I have tried many products including dermatologist prescribed treatments that didn't work as well as this. I love how clean and smooth my skin feels after washing my face. My skin used to get dry when I first started using this face wash. What I did to help was wash my face once a day and I would use a moisturizer afterwards. Now that my skin is used to the wash I use it twice a day with or without a moisturizer. I love this product and always will!

I have sensitive, acne-prone skin that has been out of control since starting on new medication that caused me to break out. I tried everything, some things costing hundreds of dollars and my skin was still impossible. I had at least 7-8 huge whitehead, sore pimples all the time. Then I tried this. Within a few days I immediately noticed my skin was getting clearer. I couldn't believe it. And within the next few weeks my breakouts completely stopped! It was like magic. I can't thank this amazing (and cheap!) product enough for what it has done for me. Just make sure you use a good face lotion after cleansing, as it can be slightly drying. I'll never stop using this!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by blahblahblahhh Worst face wash ever
Okay so I bought this on a saturday at Walmart in the travel section cause I just wanted to try a new cleanser. I DON'T have sensitive skin and its pretty normal (not dry not oily), and I don't have acne either but i do break out on my forehead a lot. So i washed my face with this before I did my makeup and everything was fine except it was little drier than usual so I put a lot of moisturizer on. That day everything was fine until the next morning. I woke up and my eyes were swollen and my face was burning and really itchy! At first I didn't know what was going on but later I realized it was this. I did my makeup for the day and it was soo blotchy and dry looking it looked terrible (even my mom said so lol) So all day my face was itching under the makeup. When i took my makeup off (with my aveeno cleanser) I had these tiny itchy bumps all over my face! That next morning i woke up again and my eyes (mostly my right eye) was swollen again! Its thursday & my face is finally almost back to normal. This product ruined my whole week. DO NOT BUY IT! There are SOME good reviews but i wouldn't take the risk.

I recently purchased this product and after using this product twice I have broke out in a red bumpy rash all over my face. I have never had this reaction to anything else in my life. I will never use again or recommend to any one.

Very good product! I am teen and I happen to be very prone to acne especially if I'm stressed. This product is great and I haven't experienced any extreme drying of my skin but I'd like to know if you can recommend a moisturizer as I've been using the Neutorgena Rapid Clear 2 in 1 fight and fade toner.
I endorse it!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by PuffyEyes The first reaction I've ever had
I don't have sensitive skin and have used many different products before for my spot prone skin. I used this once a day for three days and on the fourth morning I woke up and looked like I'd been in a fight. My eyes were very puffy with large bags underneath, my skin was patchy, red and felt like sandpaper and I had lots of little whiteheads on my chin. It is now the fifth day and there is no improvement. With christmas two days away maybe I should have asked for a ski mask as even I don't want to look at myself right now. I have read so many reviews of people having the same reaction so when Neutrogena say this reaction is not typical, I'm starting to think it is quite typical. It's safe to say I'll be throwing this product away.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by Lauren This is NOT a SAFE over-the-counter product
Mistake number 1:
I used this and woke up with a rash on my face. It usually takes time for any acne treatment to work so I kept using it.
Mistake number 2:
I noticed my skin was VERY VERY DRY. So I decided to use it once a day and use plenty of moisturizer. ...no results.
Mistake number 3:
I used a small amount and added lots of water to dilute this HARSH product. YET my skin changed from dry to very flaky, leathery, itchy, and I got clusters of pimples my cheeks. I have small zits and these pimples/cyst were new to me!
The BEST decision
discontinued using this product after several months of using it. My skin was so bad, I HAD to see a dermatologist to help my skin recover from the damages and acne marks of this HARSH product. My self-esteem was at all time low due to my face. I looked like I aged too. AWFUL!!
Just because a product is on the market and "over the counter" does not mean it is safe to use on your face. Your face is delicate. Please don't use just any product. Do you research. Better yet, see a dermatologist. It is the safest way and your doctor is accountable & reliable for your skin care. Even though it's expensive, realize that dermatologist are experts in the field of skin care and are willingly to help you get clear skin in the safest way possible. For 14 years, I've used product after product (including proactive) trying to "cure" my acne with similar over-the-counter drugs when I should have just called my doctor to help me find the best product for my skin.
